三星出资10亿美元结盟辉达、KKR抢攻AI资料中心

人工智慧(AI)基础建设投资火爆，三星电子和旗下公司周二(29日)宣布，将投资辉达(NVDA-US)和KKR合资的AI基建商Helix Digital Infrastructure，合计投入10亿美元。
三星电子将出资5亿美元，其余金额来自旗下五家公司，包括三星物产(Samsung C&T)、三星SDS、三星SDI、三星人寿(Samsung Life Insurance)和三星火灾海上保险(Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance)。
AI基础设施市场竞争日益激烈之际，Helix希望同时锁定资料中心部署，以及支撑资料中心运作所需的底层电力基础设施，以因应市场竞争。
这项交易也让三星得以发挥旗下关系企业的专长，从半导体、冷却系统，到资料中心建设与电池等领域，借此扩大三星在全球AI基建热潮中的角色。
三星电子周二上午股价一度上涨逾2%，截稿前涨0.88%，大盘指数Kospi则下跌0.63%。
Helix于6月成立，投资锁定AI需求所需的基础设施，包括超大规模资料中心、发电、输电与配电基础设施，以及光纤网路。该公司由曾任AWS执行长的Adam Selipsky领导，创使投资人包括私募股权公司KKR、科威特投资局(KIA)、辉达与美国电力公司Vistra。
根据KKR资料，在这笔最新投资之前，外界承诺投入金额已超过100亿美元。
三星表示，这笔投资将有助于与Helix合作加速全球AI资料中心的部署，并深化参与各方之间的合作。
KKR已在全球数位基础设施与电力领域投资超过750亿美元，自2009年以来对南韩的投资金额约90亿美元。
