加拿大CTV新闻台发布的最新民调显示，加拿大民众对本周开始实施的对美贸易反制措施的支持率创下新高，80%受访加拿大人支持政府对美采取针锋相对的贸易反制措施，其中全面支持政府反制措施的比例为59%，部分支持的比重为21%。
此外，75%受访加拿大人完全支持政府此前做出的在贸易谈判中不向美国低头的决定，还有10%加拿大人表示部分支持。
加拿大人也清楚加美贸易战开打后，个人生活会受到影响。不过，民调显示，70%受访加拿大人愿意承受因对美采取贸易反制措施引发的日常商品涨价。
此外，78%受访加拿大人表示自己会主动购买加拿大产品，77%表示自己会避免购买美国商品和服务，还有47%表示已取消赴美旅行计划。
